Sydney Turns 9!

Wow she is getting grown up!  This was first thing in the morning.  She got to pick two presents to open, the rest she would have to save for after dinner, cake and candle's (much to Lance's dissapointment, he thinks you should open all presents first thing in the morning).

She got a fishing pole from the boys, now she can join them fishing this summer with the poles they got for Christmas.

Cake later that evening with the family.

This was her "friend" party a few day later.  She wanted an animal them, hence the masks.

Sydney also wanted a "donut" cake, which is what she had last year.  I wasn't going to complain since it's so easy, just send Lance to the store.

The Pied Piper

Sydney was in a Missoula Children's Theater production of The Pied Piper.  She loves being in plays.  She played the role of a towns kid.  She had several lines, and she did a great job of adding attitude to her voice and movements.  She also had some hilarious facial expressions.  I'm sad that I didn't get any video.  I was the pianist for the play, so I was able to do any video stuff.

New Year's Trip

We took to trip to Eagle Crest Resort with another family for New Year's.  The high light was sledding, which we did every day (four days!)  I think we've had enough sledding for this winter.

Tyson was trying out the snow board.  He did pretty good for his first try.

 Caron called this the torpedo.

The boys thought it was fun to go in the hot tub, then lay in the snow!

I love Carson's expression in this picture,  COLD!

Then back in the hot tub!  Ahhhhhh.....

December Events

The primary children singing at the ward Christmas party.  Carson was waiting the whole party to go up on the stage, but then when it came time, he got nervous and wanted to come back down.  I convinced him to go back up and stick  it out.

Carson visiting with Santa.  He told Santa he wants a really fast remote control car that never runs out of charge.  Good luck Carson.

And for some crazy reason, Santa was passing out BAGS of candy.  What happened to the simple little candy cane?  Don't our kids get enough treats as it is at Christmas time?

Decorating the ginger bread cookies that Grandma Huffman sent down as part of our 12 days of Christmas.

Santa visited our neighbor via the fire truck.  He was passing out candy canes with the help of the firemen, while the fire truck was blasting christmas music.  Very exciting for the kids.

Christmas Morning!  Kids woke up about 6:30am, not too bad.

They get to look through their stockings first.

 Sydney's big present from Santa......

Playmobile!  Her favorite toy right now.

The boys got lego sets from Santa.

Family Picures for Christmas

Some of these pictures we used on our Christmas card, but I wanted to put more on the blog just so Grandma and Grandpa Smith far away could have more pictures to look at.  Some of them arn't good, which is why they weren't on our card.
